Dante is 5 Months Old!

A visit to the doctor confirmed that Dante has gained close to three pounds within the past month! Guess we've figured out that feeding technique! He now weighs 9 lbs, 3 oz. Way to go!

At Doctor's Visit

Dante was at a Doctor's visit today. He has gained weight to 6 lbs, 11 oz and grew to 20 1/2 inches! All looks good, per his pediatrician!

Born June 23, 2009 at 3:24pm, weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 19 1/2 inches long.

Not for the Faint of Heart...

Shortly after 2pm on Tuesday, June 23, it was decided that labor wasn't progressing, so, off to the OR for a C-section!

My mom took these National Geographic-looking pictures while with me in the OR. You gotta love her with that camera!

June 22: 2 Days Overdue, Induction Began

Induction began around 2pm on Monday, June 22. Here, still smiling after initial dose of Misoprostol... "Contractions ain't all that bad," or so I thought. Overnight, I was started on Pitocin low dose... By morning, I was asking for my epidural! I got my epidural but with regular increases of Pitocin. By noon on Tuesday, June 23, I was no longer smiling. The epidural worked on half my body only--my right side. The pain was just intense on the left side of my body. I thought epidurals were the secret to wonderful vaginal deliveries!??
